PCB Assembler/Technician

MTEQ is a lead sensor system integrator focused on providing advanced sensor technology to address C4ISR mission requirements. MTEQ provides a broad range of technical support across two divisions. Our Technical Services Division provides research, development, analysis and field service support to advance the architecting and fielding of advanced sensor systems for ISR and Force Protection missions. Our System Division provide the engineering design, development of complete and integrated solutions from hardware to software for sensors, systems and command and control architecture.

MTEQ is seeking a trained Electronics Assembler to assist in ourKilmarnock, VA location. The successful applicant will be responsible for assembly and verification of printed circuit board (PCBs) assemblies, ensuring that products are manufactured to customer s specifications and quality standards.

The preferred candidate will have working experience in a manufacturing, production assembly, inventory or warehouse environment, familiar with good safety practices, able to follow complex processes/ procedures, operate assembly-process equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:S:

  • Able to read, understand and assemble a variety of products according to assembly procedures, drawings and bill-of-material, understand how to reference and comply with standards in IPC-610 & J-Standard-001 manuals.

  • Able to identify and select/sort electronic components and sub-assemblies.

  • Prepare components for install on PCBs (form and trim leads, solder prep, label/mark).

  • Assemble components onto circuit cards.

  • Perform hand-soldering, and able to learn to safely operate and maintain wave-solder and cleaning machines.

  • If needed, remove and re-install components using de-soldering/soldering tools.

  • Able and willing to perform work requiring use of microscope.

  • Be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, able to perform simple shop math.

  • Maintain work areas neat and organized, records complete and accurate.

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.

  • Will perform other duties, projects, responsibilities as assigned.

  • At all times comply with appropriate safety protocols and company policies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS diploma/GED required.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 4 years of related experience.

  • Excellent technical writing, documentation and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel).

  • IPC-610 & J-Standard knowledge

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.

Working hours: M-F from 7:00a. m. to 3:30p. m.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
